Christmas Post!

The poem I sent out over YM:

The Night Before Christmas
by Bryan Tan

'Twas the night before Christmas, and not a creature was stirring,
Not a sound for a mile, no drunkard slurring,
Save for the cat, who was constantly purring.
Snuggled up cozy in its mat, its vision blurring.

Then on my roof I heard a frightful din and a crash.
I made for my rooftop posthaste with a dash,
Thinking "Oh my good! A looter out for my cash."
"If it's a fight he wants, I'll turn his face into mash!"

Up on the roof, what I saw gave me a fright,
'Twas a fat old man, his face from the booze cheery and bright.
I called the police and as they carried him away, he screamed with all his might:
"A Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

Merry Christmas everybody!

Translated Filipino Poetry

It pretty much sums up how I feel right now. No, not really. I just thought it was good.

This is my translated, fixed and lengthened free verse poem for Filipino.

The Pristine Island
by Bryan Tan

I find myself in an island.
Gazing into the distance,
I see the vast ocean
and the beautiful sun setting on its waves

I find myself in an island.
I can taste the crispness of the air,
and the pure and clear water
from its rivers and streams.

I find myself in an island.
Truly, this place is paradise.
The plants and animals,
untouched by man.

I find myself in an island.
A peaceful and pristine island.
I am absorbed in the silence,
in the pure beauty unspoiled.

I find myself in an island,
and I am alone.
