The Night Before Christmas
by Bryan Tan
'Twas the night before Christmas, and not a creature was stirring,
Not a sound for a mile, no drunkard slurring,
Save for the cat, who was constantly purring.
Snuggled up cozy in its mat, its vision blurring.
Then on my roof I heard a frightful din and a crash.
I made for my rooftop posthaste with a dash,
Thinking "Oh my good! A looter out for my cash."
"If it's a fight he wants, I'll turn his face into mash!"
Up on the roof, what I saw gave me a fright,
'Twas a fat old man, his face from the booze cheery and bright.
I called the police and as they carried him away, he screamed with all his might:
"A Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

Merry Christmas everybody!
