Back From the Dead and Wisened by the Experience

Yeah! First blog post in my brand spanking new blog!

Anyway. I spent 8 or 9 hours in a cemetery. This was with my family, so mostly I kept to myself. Now, 8 hours watching Chuck reruns, and when your laptop runs out of battery, doing nothing at all, may seem boring. I'll tell you now, it is. It gets you thinking though. Why do we go to the cemetery on All Saint's Day instead of the day after, All Soul's? Also, why does it fall after Halloween? Something as sacred as the day of all the saints (like a giant feast day) right after one of the most irreverent holidays of the year? Next to mardi gras of course, which is awesome. Anyway, well I got to thinking, and I sort of answered the second question. Y'know what? It's cause Halloween isn't a Christian event, unlike the two ASDs. Yeah, that was simple. The first question, I guess is due to people's [false] pride. (Yeah! My grandmother's a saint! Up yours.) Anyway, that's not really what I was thinking about most of the time. Mostly it was personal stuff. I was thinking about what my good friend, mister Alberto Lasco, was talking about the day before. After much persuasion, I still couldn't get him to open up about his lovelife. It pissed me off, sure, but hey, now that I think about it. It's the smart thing to do. Why talk about your lovelife at all? It's something personal and stuff. Aside from that, since I was with my family, queer and interesting folk in their own right, with very interesting backgrounds, I learned a few things in many different fields. For one, in the field of Computer Science, I learned that SATA external harddrives exist. These are much faster (Imagine them to be about as fast as your internal harddrives) than USB drives. Also, in the field of drinking, I learned that wine in a plastic cup is crap compared to wine in a glass. Similarly, wine straight from the bottle is also crap compared to wine in a glass (yes I tried to gulp it down from the bottle like a hobo). Overall, it was quite an interesting experience. Spooky too. Try walking down an unlit street. Now try it when the street is in a cemetery. Most of the stuff I learned was kinda personal though, so I won't really share it here.

I guess that's it. A nice lengthy first post to inaugurate my new blahg eh? Yeah, it's gonna be in English now.
